Before I comment on this video, I just want to say: WAY TO GO IPOH!!! PROUD OF IPOHIANS AND I’M ONE TOO. (Mass Comm. Student)
The Mass Communication Theories that are found in this video.
1) This has the Transmission of Values effect (Moral Values)
2) It creates Linkage too.(It links people together as 1, and also Perakians)
3) Through this video, it creates social utility where people will start discussing about this video
4) Because of people commenting on this video, Interpretation of this Video is created.
5) And because of all the above, Uses and Gratification Theory is archive.
6) Agenda Setting is archive too, because this video tells the viewers what to think about and not what to think.
What I personally think about this video.
1) The actor says my Father used to own some lands is referring to GOD owns all the people and everything that’s in this universe.
2) Land – from the video we can see the actor took some “Tanah” and put in a big jar.
3) In a scientific point of view, “Tanah” consisting a lot of element. It means that the “Tanah” is the mix races of people. The “Big Jar” is Malaysia and the “Tanah” is put into 1 big jar it means we are in the same boat.
4) The Indian boy says landslide, it symbolise that if the “Tanah” doesn’t work well and fall. Is just like what the old Malay lady says, is not a good piece of “Tanah”.
5) The Indian guy says no “Tanah” we can’t live it symbolise if we don’t have unity we can’t survive in this piece of land.
6) Water – Is view as the gift of God, the gift of God is most probably
a) Love
b) Joy
c) Peace
d) Longsuffering
e) Kindness
f) Goodness
g) Faithfulness
h) Gentleness
i) Self-control
7) With all this GIFTS pour into the “Tanah”, people start mixing around. The Bad which is the mud will clog together because they are too heavy hearted to be good and to change, The Good ones is refine from them and is happily floating with God’s gift.
8)Sieve – it symbolise the separation of Good and Bad, through this sieving process it means that all the “OLD HABITS” of doing things in this country shouldn’t be taken to the next year and all stereotype, prejudice, and racism should leave behind and start a whole new Malaysia which is at YEAR 2020.
9) Drinking – it symbolises that if we done all the sieving process, is safe for our next generation to partake of it without any harmful substances in it.
