In my opinion, the conversation between the mother and the boy highlights the abundance of opportunities that the Chinese can get overseas whereas locally it is limited, although in recent times it is not so bad. This inequality fuels the hatred of the Chinese and the other non-Malays towards the Malays. Some of the narrow-minded Malays keep insisting this is their land and theirs only. If they continue to think in such ways, 1Malaysia will forever be a dream.

The encounter between the boy and the Malay girl gives us a view on the current situation - attempting to compromise but failing to do so due to the various barriers put between us especially by our forefathers. Our parents teach us to not trust certain races and to avoid mingling with people of other races because previously they have been mistreated by people of these races. Hostility is answered with more hostility hence the never-ending hatred and disharmonious world we live in.

I believe the key to unity and harmony in this country is to forget the past, forget who threw the first stone, and learn to appreciate the existence of each race and the rich culture that it provides for our country.

Put aside all the differences. Deep inside we are all the same. We are educated person. We know what is right and what is wrong. Don't label someone based on his/her races, gender, ethnic and etc. We are 1Malaysian. Just hold on that.

Gosh, I just stumbled upon this website and the first film I looked for was Yasmin's. Her films, short or long, have touched into the abyss of our souls and hearts and triggered a wave of emotions that we never knew (or did not want to know) would affect us that much. God bless you Yasmin.

By any chance, does anyone know what is the music score played towards the end of this short film? It makes me reminisce of Yasmin.

Love & joy, everyone. Yasmin would have loved that.

this is soooo darn true. This is what is currently happening in Malaysia. I'm not saying all Chinese are like this but most of them. If they hate the government, just hate them. Why do they have to hate all Malays?
I mean, I'm a Malay and I dont know you, and you dont know me. But you hate me just because I'm a Malay. That is just not right...man....think about it.

btw, someone needs to do something with the spams.
