i had watch this short movie few times to understand it.
What i m notice from it is everyone have their own pure heart and because of many influence (e.g. enviroment, relationship, stress, hope, etc…) had make a person become more negative self-esteem and more self protect. Thus, misunderstanding occur because lack of communication at each other.
The Chinese Mother,
she may want more happy with the guy she loves (her current boyfriend) after she lost her husband. But want to solve the relationship with her son because of her son don’t like her boyfriend.
The Chinese Boy,
he want to stay at his place and dont want goto study, maybe he don’t like study, or he want to indirectly protect his mother being cheated by her current boyfriend, or maybe he had fall-in-love with the Malay School Girl.
While he still nice and soft conversation with the Malay Girl he like/love, suddenly his mother shout at him to come back, he 180 degree change his attitude and say rude word to the Girl he loves. But i think he don’t want to treat the Malay Girl like this because of that timing and the bad situation suddenly came out.
Still, he still young and EQ need to be more pratice. Cannot blame this Chinese Boy.
Malay Girl,
I think she have the feeling on the Chinese Boy, still a school student. She purposely came to the “Kedai Runcit” just pretend to buy something else because she want to see him.
Unlucky, she not enough money to buy the extra Chocolate and the Chinese Boy still facing the arguement with his mother. And the Chinese Boy treat her badly, made her feel shame come to kedai runcit.
Maybe the Malay Girl understand or dont understand the Chinese Boy have arguement with his mother.
